Words to Music

Words to Music is a project in which poetry written by local students is
set to music by area composers. In May, area students in 4th through
8th grade literature and writing classes in La Crosse submitted poems
based on the theme “It’s Magic!”. The poems were coded to preserve
anonymity, and were given to five area composers who each choose
one to become the text of a new musical work. The composers wrote
their new compositions over the summer, and the La Crosse Chamber
Chorale premiered them at our November 2011 concerts.  Click on the
