The Chamber Chorale is proud to sponsor the creation of new music,
and thanks the La Crosse Rotary Foundation and Macy’s for
partnering with us on our sixth Words to Music project. It involved
seventy students from 4th through 8th grades here in La Crosse. We
asked them to write poems about someone or something they
remembered. In May 2006 we collected the poems, coded them to
preserve anonymity, and asked each of five composers to choose a
poem to become the text for a new musical composition for choir and
selected instruments. Click on the links to the right of the picture to
