The Artaria String Quartet will join the La Crosse Chamber Chorale for the performance of Haydn’s
The Seven Last Words of Christ.  This piece was originally written for the Good Friday service at the Grotto
Santa Cuera, a cathedral near Cádiz in southern Spain.  Haydn’s soaring melodies and intense, solemn
harmonies beautifully illuminate the divine tragedy and eternal promise of the Passion story.

Come hear melodies that touch the heart, harmonies that stir the soul, music that will
live in your memory.
