2011-2012 Concert Season
Welcome!
Welcome to our 26th concert season! After celebrating twenty-five years of
great singing in the La Crosse area last season, we are eager for you to hear
the wonderful music we’ve planned for you in our new season! In November
we will feature poetry written by La Crosse students set to new music for our
8th Words to Music project, “It’s Magic!” We’ll contrast these fresh young
poetic voices with the poetry of Shakespeare in Ralph Vaughan Williams’
fanciful settings of Three Shakespeare Songs, and with the supremely
beautiful poetry of the Psalms set to music by William Byrd and Palestrina. In
February we are excited to present Alexander Grechaninov’s powerful and
profound masterwork, Passion Week, in the beautiful Mary of the Angels
Chapel at the St. Rose Convent. In April we celebrate renewal in the natural
world, welcoming spring and summer. We hope you join us Where Music
Dwells.
